My best friend often talks about how lucky he was to get his current girlfriend. What he doesn't know is that she initially showed interest in me before they started dating.
I wasn't interested in a relationship at the time and encouraged her to get to know him instead. They've now been together for years and seem very happy.
I've never told him because I don't want to create unnecessary problems, but sometimes I wonder how differently things could have turned out.
